Residents of Hellaby and Maltby West turned out in force last week for a magnificent medieval-themed St George's Day event, organised by local Conservative councillors Cllr Simon Ball and Cllr Lynda Stables.
The event, which made imaginative use of the ward's green spaces, saw families come together to embrace the spirit of England's patron saint in style, with the medieval theme giving the celebration a distinctive and memorable character that set it apart from anything the ward had seen before.
Councillors Ball and Stables were effusive in their thanks, saying the support and attendance of residents "means more than you know," and describing the sight of families enjoying the day together as making every ounce of effort entirely worthwhile.
This is community conservatism in action — local councillors who know their ward, invest in their residents, and are not afraid to be bold and creative in bringing people together. Rotherham Conservatives are immensely proud of Simon and Lynda, and of every single resident who came along and made the day so memorable.
