David Fisher is honored to represent the residents of Sitwell Ward as their elected councillor. With a deep connection to the community, David brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to addressing the needs of the ward.
Educational Roots and Military Service
A local scholar, David studied at Wath Comprehensive School and Rotherham College before embarking on a remarkable journey with the Territorial Army in 1982. Transferring to the RAF, he served as an Aircraft Electrician, embodying the values of discipline and service to the nation.
Entrepreneurial Ventures and Engineering Expertise
Post-military service, David ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing several independent businesses. Returning to his roots in engineering, he currently supports Electrical Compliance as a commercial subcontractor. David is an active member of professional organisations, including the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE), and the Royal Airforce Association.
Living Locally Since 1996
A Sitwell Ward resident since 1996, David has witnessed the community evolve. Together with his family, including two daughters who attended local schools, they relish leisurely walks in the local area and exploring the scenic landscapes of the Peak District.
A Strong Voice for Sitwell Ward
David's 25 years of residence in Sitwell Ward have equipped him with a nuanced understanding of local issues. If elected, he pledges to be a dedicated advocate for the community, focusing on key concerns such as traffic management, responsible planning and development, and the provision of family-friendly facilities.
David says,
"I am incredibly proud to be the councillor for Sitwell Ward. My commitment to this community runs deep, and I am dedicated to working tirelessly as a strong voice for the people here, addressing their concerns and championing their needs."
