Emily Barley

Rotherham and District Conservative Federation Deputy Chairman

Who is Emily Barley?

Career

Emily has been a self-employed communications and public affairs consultant for over five years, working with lots of different kinds of clients. Her work includes building websites and managing social media, ghost-writing articles for politicians, producing research papers on different policy issues, and developing campaign strategies.

Political Experience

Her political experience includes volunteering on every election and referendum campaign for the past decade, standing in council elections twice, and standing for Parliament once - as the Conservative candidate for Wentworth and Dearne in December 2019. She also runs the campaign group Due Process, and is chairman of Conservatives for Liberty.

Role within Rotherham Conservatives

Emily is responsible for membership and fundraising, including sending out emails and organising renewals, but she likes to get stuck in with everything else the Federation is doing too - especially knocking on doors. She considers getting out to knock on doors and speak to people the most important thing the Federation can do, because that's the only way to truly understand what's going on locally and find ways to help.

Relaxation

When she's not busy with work or politics, you can find Emily busy in the garden, working on her veg patch, or making friends with cows on a countryside walk.
