Cllr Josh Bacon on Worksop Road discussing road safety

Councillor Josh Bacon (Aston & Todwick ward) and local campaigner Pat Collins have launched a renewed road safety campaign to demand action to tackle long-standing road safety issues in Aston. 

Josh and Pat are asking people to complete their survey to back their campaign and get a better understanding of the measures residents would like to see.

The petition of residents of Aston-cum-Aughton and Rotherham,

Declares that measures are needed to combat speeding and road safety along Worksop Road, Aston. 


The petitioners request that Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to work alongside the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and that they consider the use of funding from the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements scheme and/or Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council resources, to devise a package of improvements to Worksop Road that promotes road safety, tackles speeding and provides safe crossings for pedestrians.
